Where is the Harpenden Hero “Roger”

The Harpenden Hero A.K.A “Roger”

Those of you who were present at the AGM 2009 will remember that Andy Rose introduced a new "member" of table, a chap wearing his Harpenden Round Table rugby shirt with pride.

He was originally a "Garden Hero" but has now been transformed into the “Harpenden Hero” or the Chairman's Penalty. His purpose is to encourage the Chair of Fellowship and the Trowel of Fellowship to be passed round. The Chairman can assign the 'Harpenden Hero' to a Tabler who has to display it where it can be seen at the front of their house (until the trowel/chair is passed on).

If any Tabler observes the Harpenden Hero not being displayed appropriately, he is entitled to claim a pint at the next meeting from the current holder.

The first recipient of the Hero was Paul Clayden because he has held the Chair of Fellowship since January at least. Sadly, the Hero managed to escape from Paul's clutches at the AGM and is now on the run. A number of photos have surfaced recently of Hero’s travels and He even has a Facebook site now!

I wonder where he will be seen next? If you do happen to see him, try to take a photo and let us all know his whereabouts. In the meantime remember that any Tabler who observes that the Hero is not being displayed can claim a pint at the next meeting.

Keep your eyes peeled!
