THE ESSEX DOG DISPLAY TEAM is generally regarded as the premier dog display team in Great Britain and Europe. The display is entertaining exciting and educational, exactly what you would expect from Britain's longest established civilian dog team. Each event we attend receives the same professional package. We are the only civilian dog team ever to be selected for The Royal Tournament, carrying out 28 displays in front of a live audience with international television coverage. The team were presented to Her Majesty The Queen and most members of the Royal Family during their time at the Royal Tournament. Working with many different breeds of dogs, the team produce a professional action packed and entertaining display, coupled with a superb commentary, these happy dogs will leave the audience spellbound. The central feature of the display is a 100ft by 8ft high ramp which the dogs negotiate at high speed through hoops of fire, also on the ramp a unique demonstration of dogs negotiating human obstacles. Controlled attack dogs apprehend fleeing criminals whilst under 'gunfire '. Searching and retrieving and agility races, are just some of the many exercises included in the display. The team do not teach exercises that the public are known to frown on, such as walking along parallel bars or wire bond or high ladders. Many of the dogs in the team are rescue dogs and organisers of events together with the public need to know the welfare of the dogs is paramount. So as well as the CLA Game Fair, County Shows, the Five Nations Rugby Tournament at Twickenham, the team also appear at many other varied events. Canine organisations such as the Kennel Club, Police Forces, Guide Dogs, Battersea Dogs Home and animal welfare groups have all asked the team to appear at their events. The Essex Dog Display Team
